Multi Layer Composite Creates a Strong Laminate for the Home

It isn't possible to find a tougher laminate than Pergo. The composite is constructed according to advanced composite technology with selected materials that are compressed under high pressure and high temperature.

Pergo Flooring uses a composite that is better than others when it comes to resistance to wear and marking. This is thanks to the Perstorp Multi Layer composite (MLC) technology which comprises three section of rein impregnated paper with different characteristics. The protective, decorative and supprot layers are  combined under high pressure and temperature conditions. Now we are launching a further laminate for Pergo Select which is the sturdiest (0.7mm), toughest and most durable ever available for home use.

The protective layer is a transparent, double layer of alpha cellulose paper which is impregnated with melamine resin and aluminium oxide. Aluminium oxide is an extremely hard material. It is almost comparable with diamond in its hardness and provides the flooring with good wear resistance.

The decorative layer is optically perfected with maximum lustre and depth. The support layer has charasteristics that give the composite maximum mechanical strength and warmth related properties.

Pergo Select laminates may be tough but they are not rough. The hare particles are applied between the two topmost layers, not direct on the surface as with other types of flooring. This means that a Pergo floor is pleasant to work on and does not abrade clothes ad footwear.
