Taking care of your IMaGES floor

Like any flooring, IMaGES Flooring requires a few simple steps to keep it looking beautiful. Our Jancoat finish makes your IMaGES floor extremely durable and beautiful. The Jancoat finish is especially suited for high traffic residential areas such as kitchens and is easy to maintain.

  • Sweep or vacuum the floor thoroughly after installation.
  • Clean your IMaGES floor with a good quality hardwood floor cleaner available from your IMaGES hardwood flooring dealer. This will remove any handling and installation blemishes and get your new IMaGES floor off to the right start.
  • Dust mop or vacuum your wood floor as required.
  • Waxing is not recommended. Also, never use water to clean your IMaGES floor or cleaners that mix with water. It is also recommended that furniture dusting sprays not be used on your floors.
  • After a year or more, depending on the amount of traffic, it is recommended that you treat your IMaGES wood floor with a good quality dressing available from your IMaGES hardwood flooring dealer. The product can be spread with a clean sponge mop. This will help maintain the new look of your floors for many years.
  • Maintain proper humidity levels in your home. Extreme changes in humidity caused by seasonal changes can dramatically affect the humidity level in your home. It is recommended that the humidity level of your home stay in the range of 45% throughout the year. To accomplish this, the use of humidifiers or de-humidifiers as part of your climate conditioning is recommended.
  • Gritty sand and dirt is abrasive to hardwood floors. Use protective mats at doorways.
  • Ensure that furniture legs have floor protectors installed.
  • Sharp high heels and metal parts on shoes can damage hardwood floors by causing indentations on the finish.
